9 Recipes for a Homemade St. Patrick’s Day

While you can never go wrong with the traditional corned-beef-and-cabbage dinner, we’ve rounded up a few other recipes from our cooking classes and kitchen in case you want to mix things up for Saint Patrick’s Day this year.

Don’t feel like cooking? No problem — all you really need for an authentic Saint Patrick’s Day celebration are some good friends and some good Irish whiskey (but which one?).

#1 Guinness and Maple Glazed Salmon: The rich maple flavor of Guinness is a natural partner for buttery salmon in this quick dish.

#2 Irish Apple and Parsnip Soup: Served with a side of Irish soda bread, this mildly tangy soup is incredibly comforting.

#3 Colcannon: About as traditional as Irish cooking gets, colcannon pairs cabbage, potatoes and cream in a sublimely simple side.

#4 Bittersweet Chocolate Irish Whiskey Cake: With hints of chocolate, almond and Irish whiskey, this lovely cake is hard to resist. Add a dollop of spiked whipped cream and it’s nigh impossible.

#5 Cold Brew Irish Coffee: Our cooler, updated take on a traditional drink featuring Irish whiskey and coffee.

#6 Whiskey and Stout Cupcakes: A trio of booze packs a punch in these not-to-be-trifled-with festive cupcakes.

#7 Guinness Ice Cream with Chocolate Bacon Bits: Skip the beer float and just add your favorite Irish stout to creamy homemade ice cream.

#8 Ginger Irish Whiskey: A delightfully surprising pairing of zingy ginger ale and Irish whiskey makes this a new Saint Patrick’s Day classic.

#9 Corned Beef Sliders: Our finger-food spin on the holiday’s most traditional dish.
