Here we go again. Tax time: an endless array of forms, schedules, supplemental forms, supplemental supplements—it’s enough to put me off numbers for good. Last year I buried my tax-time woes with an Income Tax Cocktail, but who wants to fiddle with those precise measurements? 1.5 oz. London dry gin? 0.75 oz. orange juice? Enough with the numbers already!
Wouldn’t it be nice to relax after all of that taxing (ha!) form wrangling with an icy cold cocktail? Wouldn’t it be nice if the recipe for said cocktail were basically as simple and uncomplicated as “Here, drink this?” That’s where these incredibly easy slushy Negronis come in.
Throw equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth in a blender with some ice, blend until smooth and slushy, and drink. That’s it. No need to bother with jiggers or measuring spoons—just keep the booze close to a 1:1:1 ratio and you’ll be fine. Not a fan of Campari’s bitterness? Try adding some fresh strawberries or watermelon, a drizzle of honey or a handful of frozen fruit for a sweeter, but still complex drink.
Just don’t drink it too fast, or your list of tax burdens will suddenly include brain freeze.
